Last thing I said was "Its getting to look alot like springtime."
Sorry to jinx everyting. Weather drops to under 10 degrees and instead of riding, I spend a day shoveling driveways and cleaning my bikes a little more.
Anyway, I had to talk a little about a new project I just got together. I took an Azonic Steelhead frame and decided to build a single speed MTB bike. After spending a little time on a Trek 69er, I thought I would try and make that work with the Azonic frame I have. The geometry for the frame ended up working out great. The frame is set for mostly 26" wheels and a 5" travel fork, so I got a rigid 29er fork from a company called Orgin 8, adjusted to match a 4" travel fork, and installed a 29er wheel on the front. The bike performs almost as if it was intended to be set up that way.
Because of snow I have only ridden around on the road, but when you get on a bike that feels good, you know it right from the start. Any questions on the set up, give me a hello. It is going to be a great blend of both 26" benefits and 29" benefits, and the cost is well under what the Trek 69er would be as the only company to build this setup in an OEM bike.
Looking forward to the dirt...
